Vol. IRS No. Screw You
Taxes are all done, a tear-dampened check sent off, a goodly amount of booze dulled your pain, and now you’re looking forward again to a magnificent spring with maybe a mini-vacation to your in-laws in June.
Speaking of mini-vacations (minus in-laws), went to Sea Ranch, an awesome lodge on the California coast about an hour north of Bodega Bay (lots of birds flying around, usually friendly). It’s right on the cliffs overlooking at the ocean with scads of hiking trails – cold and windy but all bundled up, no problem. The following morning after we had breakfast in the small café, I naturally walked off without my handbag. (Left hanging off the chair, of course). And no cell connection through the winding hills until Healdsburg (got all Outer Banks birthday presents bought, paid the store’s overhead for the month), called Sea Ranch, feeling no hope at all, but guess what? They found my purse, nothing taken, mailed it back and I got it a couple days ago. Isn’t it always lovely to experience goodness in the world?
I won’t speak of the Warriors who, it seems, flew to Honolulu rather than travel to Sacramento for the first “play in” game against the Kings. But hey, they sent a high school team to play in their stead (well, they sent the “bench” of the high school basketball team). It was beyond sad. But you know, by the beginning of the basketball season in October, I’ll have forgotten and be all revved up again. Beyond happy – for a while.
