September 2024 Newsletter

Vol. Pig No. Skin

Here we go - excellent news. On the 22nd, we officially say a blessed farewell to the wretched hot summer weather for another year. But why, you ask? It's the Autumn Equinox, and summer is officially over and like Elvis has to exit the building. No more sucking up to your ac, no more wearing next to nothing so you won't collapse from heat prostration, no more having to put your hands on a two-thousand degree steering wheel. Summer is not allowed to show its face again after the Autumn Equinox or the seasons would fall out of balance, not to mention the weather minions would be pissed off.

You ask -- how to celebrate this blessed day? Bundle up all your worn-out summer clothes that you never want to see again in this lifetime, carry the bundle to a car compactor place, gently place the bundle in the trunk of a car and ask if you can help the crusher. While the car is being reduced to the size of a handkerchief, you will do a little dance, but no bare feet, this is not a good place to be overcome with happiness.

Now it's my favorite time of year -- football season. As you know, we have a football contest going on my reader Facebook page. At the end of the season, the winners (up to ten) receive very fine items, valuable items to keep forever, so valuable they're willed to a favorite in the next generation. You're all agog - sorry, you'll have to play to see.

It doesn't matter if you're a big football fan, it's all for fun. If you want to play, come to Facebook.com/catherinecoulterbooks.

HERE'S WHAT YOU DO/RULES:

1) Buy yourself a small football notebook. Then you write down on each page Week 2, 3, etc.

2) I post on three separate days my five game picks for the week (week begins Thursday night and ends Monday night) and my winners.

3) You can use all of my games or just 4 and substitute one of my picks for your fifth game. Select your winners for all five games. AND POST on my Facebook page so everyone can see your picks.

4) Don't forget to write your picks in your notebook.

5) When the weekly games are over, post your wins and losses on my Facebook page and in your notebook. Also, post your "to date" wins and losses.

Main thing is to have fun and go with your gut when you have absolutely no clue which team to pick to win. It's what I do.

So, come and play. Doesn't matter you've missed the first week. Enter for Week 2 as soon as you read the newsletter and post.

Good luck --

Now it's off to the car compactor -
Catherine
